5 Day Detox
Your Super 5-Day Detox is not about depriving yourself; it’s about nourishing your body with as many nutrients as possible. Large smoothies, filling salads and even optional snacks are all part of the 5-day detox. Have snacks on hand in case you need them, but many people don't snack at all. Listen to your body.
Pre-Detox
To make your body detox-ready, we recommend cutting back on caffeine, alcohol, dairy and processed foods during your pre-detox. We’ve also included a detox checklist on page 37 of NEW Detox eBook to set you up for success! A printed 5-Day Detox Plan is included with your Detox Bundle order. After purchasing Detox Bundle, you'll also receive an email with a link to download an electronic version of the 5-Day Detox Plan
Snacking on Detox
You can snack as much as you like, just keep it to Detox-friendly items. Ideal is to have smoothies and meals that carry you to the next meal without snacking...as your body can only do one activity at a time...either digestion or detox. So by not snacking your body will do a deeper Detox. But DO NOT go hungry. This is about abundant phytonutrients flooding your body and healing you...not deprivation!!
What can you eat?

Side effects during Detox
Common side effects of detoxifying include:
- Headaches
- Bad moods
- Getting a cold
- Feeling tired
- Skin breakouts
Caffeine
We recommend going off caffeine to allow your liver to rest from it's many duties. It's good to wean off caffeine prior to the detox if you can. Power Matcha and Energy Bomb can be used if you have a hard time giving up caffeine...but try going off, have some warm tea, and drink your morning smoothie. Your body will thank you!
Caffeine headaches
Common if withdrawing from coffee, caffeine (or even sugar, meat and dairy or processed foods). Stay well hydrated with 2-3 liters of water a day. Rest more if you can. Epsom salt baths. Going for a walk. Use peppermint oil on temples and back of neck. Can last about 1-3 days.
Nausea
Nausea can occasionally be a side effect of the detox. We encourage you to please be sure to check you are not allergic to any ingredients in our superfood mixes or anything outside of our mixes added to them. We encourage people to listen to their bodies and consult their health-care professional if they have serious concerns.
Sick, should I start a Detox?
You want to start a detox from a place of strength. Detox can exacerbate symptoms as your body rids itself of toxins, etc. Therefore, you wouldn't want to add to the discomfort or make your body work harder or choose where to put its healing effort.
Exercise during Detox
Many folks do fine with heavy workouts during their Detox. As always, we recommend that you listen to your body. The first 2-3 days, you may need to adjust your workout. Remember to hydrate with 80-100 ounces of water a day...and snacks or a post-workout smoothie are fine.
Messed up the Detox
Don't be hard on yourself...think of all that goodness you put in your body these last several days. No mac & cheese can take that away. Detox isn't all or nothing, pass/fail...it's about learning and feeding our bodies, minds and souls good things.
How many servings of each mix can I use while Detoxing?

Sparkling water, is it okay on Detox?
